The Cultural Landscape and Archaeological Remains of the Bamiyan Valley

The Cultural Landscape and Archaeological Remains of the Bamiyan Valley, a World Heritage property in Afghanistan. This Silk Roads property at the Bamiyan WH site will be rehabilitated within the framework of the UNESCO and the European Union partnership project on “Silk Roads Heritage Corridors in Afghanistan, Central Asia and Iran – International Dimension of the European Year of Cultural Heritage”.

The Bamiyan site was inscribed on the World Heritage List in 2003, and was simultaneously placed on the List of World Heritage Sites in Danger.

The Cultural Landscape and Archaeological Remains of the Bamiyan Valley comprises a serial property, which consists of eight separate sites within the Valley and its tributaries.
